Sabrina shinko etc
Sabrina shinko leads. I'll admit I pouted because I very selfishly wanted Amachaki to get a third lead, especially when it's SABRINA, but as it looks like she's got the nibante musumeyaku role in the honkouen (whatever that turns out to be)...

Yay 95ths? *waves flag halfheartedly* Misaki Rion was always going to go places anyway. I forgot to mention her and the three of her classmates who got named roles in the honkouen (Yuzuka Rei is no surprise either, and then Miran Renna is Tonica's little sister, so ♥)

It's probably good that OhMayu-chan isn't hogging all the shinko leads, I look forward to her David and am interested to see how Seto Kazuya does as Linus.

Kouga Asahi as shinko sanbante is A VERY WELCOME SURPRISE, no matter what the role is (it must be *something* decent or they wouldn't have given it to Miwacchi, right...?)

And speaking of shinkos.

violet_tango already linked this video today, but I'm going to point people's attention to it again in case you skipped the first twelve and a half minutes (which you SHOULDN'T HAVE in the first place but ;P)

It's the Trafalgar shinko! In which you kind of get an idea of Riku's vocal quality but not much of Re-re's... But see, but see OUR SON rocking it out as Napoleon ♥ ♥ ♥ And BonBon's SUPER put-together speech ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Followed by Riku's speech where they totally cut out her initial apology for "my lack of caution which made everyone worry". I guess they would do that.

Re-re tearing up in the interview afterward is sweet.

Yeah, that's all I've got tonight.

...Wait a minute o_o I already posted about the Hanshin Racetrack thing, right? Apparently Setohana Mari can't go to it and Risaki Shigure is taking her place?? :( :( :(

As I wrote in my post the other day, I would be totally NOOO for a week about it, but...
should Hankyu decide to make Amachaki yukigumi's next top musumeyaku, the fact that she doesn't got the shinko would make sense, as in that case she wouldn't be around for the Tokyo run of Sabrina. After all, there is no annoucement yet about hanagumi members in said Tokyo run.

Please don't be too mad when I go NO. I just love Mimi so much and keep crossing my fingers until they bleed until Hankyu should decide to destroy my hopes. ;_;
Julie: masami smilewao_wao on June 25th, 2010 02:42 am (UTC)
I'm not mad. Rather I just feel sorry for you, because I feel so certain that it won't be a Yukigumi girl... And I remember how high I set my hopes on Tomu x Masami tops, and how hard I fell because of it.

(I really don't know what to think anymore about who it'll be... But it would be really crappy for them to switch out musumeyaku in Hanagumi AGAIN D:<)

Actually, I even start to get the feeling that I will be kind of okay with it, should it be decided that way. The point is that this is not about Amachaki or others not being from Yukigumi, it's just the fact that I do want Mimi so badly. I know this might sound mean, but so far I don't really know anything about Amachaki except that she is cute, I don't know anything about her acting skills, about her singing and dancing, I have no impression what a kind of partner she would be, and am -as there is that big cute impression- kind of scared she might turn out to be one of those reduced to flat cuteness and not much else. Which would be just a kind of actress I don't want as yukigumi's top musumeyaku (yes, I am spoiled).
I know that you love her a lot, and it's important for me that this is just a way I started to think like because I am worried. I don't mean to say that Amachaki is reduced to cuteness, I'm just worried she might not do much for me, as so far she didn't really appeal to me enough to say 'I want that girl as my kumi's top musumeyaku'. And whoever will be yukigumi's queen, I really want to get to like her, preferably a lot, or at least respect her a lot.
I'm mainly worried like this because there have been a few top musumeyaku during the last 10 years who lacked depth in their acting in one opinion, and in particular Ruirui I just can't stand to watch on stage as long as she isn't playing glamorous characters like Zelda Fitzgerald (which I loved). And that's probably a reason why I am scared of too much cute. Gah, I'm stupid.
As I wrote recently, I'm just a sucker for onnayaku in particular, and that's SO obvious. Usually I easily can approve of a musumeyaku if I once have seen her playing an onnayaku rather than a musumeyaku convincingly.
And I feel as if I need to explain all of this because I feel stupid for thinking like this in the first place. T_T

*laughs* Katharina, who do you think you're talking to? ^_^;;;

I've been disparaging cute, young and unready top musumeyaku for over a year. I don't *want* Amachaki to be top any more than I wanted Ran-chan to be top. I wanted Kimu's partner to be MIKA. But with that option gone, all I can do is keep supporting the ones I like, even if a part of my heart dies every time a shinko-aged girl is announced as a new top.

I'll be sad if it is Amachaki and you don't like her. I feel grateful all the time that Lucia has become so taken with Ran-chan, but I don't expect that to always be the case. After all, I've done nothing but become more and more hard-hearted toward Sumika.

I really want to get to like her, preferably a lot, or at least respect her a lot.

That's what I wanted and didn't get. :(
Es ist Zeit zu Leben.: Nacchan & Yumiko // blissviolet_tango on June 25th, 2010 06:57 am (UTC)
Actually, I think it's no option for me not to like yukigumi's next top musumeyaku. I can't promise that I will *love* her, but the chances are very high that I will get to like her. I just can't bear not liking my top musumeyaku, or at least that's how I feel concerning this.

Well, *I* wanted Yumiko and Nacchan. But as that's not possible, I'm not going to complain about not getting it. Although it would have been awesome boohoo ;_;

I hope you don't think I'm enjoying the situation I'm in. I definitely don't "love to hate". But there are just some things that are beyond my ability to accept.

Well, *I* wanted Yumiko and Nacchan.

Obviously that was the first choice, before Yumiko announced her retirement... :( ♥

*adds* By the way, it's your fault I'm now paranoid about the "star" tab again. I was doing so well just not thinking about it...

Well, in my opinion Sumika isn't as bad as she looks in your eyes, but probably in such a case it's also a matter of not being able to get some distance to the situation. I had similar problems with one or two actresses in the past (in terms of not liking someone) and distance and time helped with it in the end... in most cases. Some are just lost.
What I really like about Sumika are in the first place things she did when still being in Hanagumi. Summed up, I get the impression she goes along with Yuuhi quite well, but she still hasn't been able to acclimate herself to Soragumi. I quite approve of her together with Yuuhi, but in the connection Yuuhi-Soragumi-Sumika there is something akward. Probably Hankyu should give her the chance to start interacting with other Soragumi members, not only Yuuhi. I don't know if that would help you at all, but I think it might work at least for me.

I really tried to be patient.
But now it's really nearly a full month since Kimu's announcement, which is a quite long time, and I even start to get worried if Hankyu wants to try their not awesome no-top-musumeyaku concept again. I guess the latter might work better for Kimu than for Asako, as Kimu didn't have a fixed partner before, and she's much less depending on the element of love in her acting style and the roles she usually gets, and I guess it would be awesome to have different musumeyaku in yukigumi get a chance, but blah. You're just not a man without that jewel of a girl next to you.

And now I'll try to think of my Yukigumi Golden Age and hope that Kimu might get something similar. Tonami should have done the Ohana thing and just stayed another ten years ;_; I wouldn't have complained.

probably in such a case it's also a matter of not being able to get some distance to the situation.

Yeah, distance is definitely something I don't have, since I'm seeing Soragumi 20+ times as a result of Alice-chan's retirement. :(

I wish I could just stop talking about Sumika -- I could if she was top in some other troupe, you know -- but since we've gotten started on it...

As if it wasn't enough that I don't like her acting / singing style, what it really comes down to is that she doesn't act like she belongs in Soragumi. I think she isolates herself from them and puts herself down (she's done this in multiple interviews) as a kind of "apology"... Which only frustrates me more. I don't feel sorry for her when she acts like that, I just want to yell "have some self-confidence for god's sake." Given a choice between a new top from another troupe who radiates overconfidence vs. one who's humble to the point of being pathetic, I'd rather have the overconfident one, please.

On Yukigumi's top musumeyaku...

Oh Christ, don't even suggest that we'll get NOTHING. I'd predict Ami or Mimi before NO ONE.

Looking at dates, though, they waited until Daigekijou Miimai to finish before announcing Tsukigumi's "no top musumeyaku" situation... T_____T;;;

No, don't let the paranoia make you too crazy. They only do that "no partner" thing with tops who were already in place, not new ones like Kimu.

Tonami should have done the Ohana thing and just stayed another ten years ;_; I wouldn't have complained.

Me neither, that would've been so much better than what we're going through now. :\

It's really nice to see the 90th class actually get some shinko leads ^^;;

Re: Amachaki, I wonder if she's getting promoted to the point where she's "graduated" from shinko leads?

Will have to watch the Trafalgar shinko stuff when I get home ♥ Love all of your "OUR SON" references ♥♥♥

Yeah :) And speaking of, that poll on the Wiki makes me happy to see that other people want to see BonBon shinko lead as well ♥

I wonder if she's getting promoted to the point where she's "graduated" from shinko leads?

The thought is absolutely dumbfounding to me. No one should "graduate" from shinkos so early. I support Amachaki, but it's still all so very wrong T_____T;;;

Love all of your "OUR SON" references ♥♥♥

She IS our son ;) In my mind, that's all I can think of her as anymore ^______^;;; ♥ ♥

Saw shinko bit! Love the babies, especially BonBon! Frustrated by lack of Eri-chan, but I didn't have excessively high hopes.
Ms. Brittladybretagne on June 25th, 2010 02:17 am (UTC)
Oh ALSO, having seen both movie versions of Sabrina eight trillion times I would say with almost complete certainty that yes, Amachaki's role is indeed the nibante musumeyaku role. The only female character that I can think that would have a similar amount of stage time would be David and Linus' mother.
Julie: ran-chan jailors daughterwao_wao on June 25th, 2010 02:30 am (UTC)
♥ I guess my question is not so much "is it the nibante musumeyaku role" so much as "will it mean more than five minutes of stage time for Amachaki"...
Ms. Britt: [girly]ladybretagne on June 25th, 2010 02:32 am (UTC)
Obviously I would hope so, especially since the subplot with the Tysons is pretty important and (I think) interesting but it's Zuka so who the heck knows. Oh Amachaki. ♥
