But they didn't bother to lengthen the plot summary. D:
1) I possibly need to marry whoever romanized the role names for Hanagumi Gaiden Berubara...

...because Soragumi's are ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME. *_______* With very few exceptions.

I will only take issue with the the v/b distinction, because Japanese name romanization has reached the point where "v" is almost always represented as ヴ in names like イヴォンヌ ("Yvonne") and such... So when they say ミッシェル・ヴェール, they mean Michel V-something, not "Bayle". We also have some slight vowel trouble, like I'm pretty sure "Gerard" is romanized ジェラール, so ジェロール must be something like "Geraul"...?

But mostly, yes. Whoever did the Alain-hen one just saved me a HUGE headache. <33333 And those other names, well, I did my best? T_____T;;;

2) I notice there's no Rosalie AND no Marie-Antoinette... but we do have Oscar and Fersen and Bernard. Mm-hmm. Cutting the musumeyaku roles but keeping the otokoyaku. Yes. I see, I see.

...Please? <333333

Someone proposed to me? :D

It seems that ジェロール is actually 'Gerloire'.

Now I am really curious who Irene is. I know many Berubara names, but I think that one is new to me.

YES. YES I AM. I'm sure Teffy will understand. >.>;;; She should be as awed as I am by your ability to decipher crazy Japanizations for French names. <.<

It seems that ジェロール is actually 'Gerloire'.

How do you KNOW that?!?! @_____@

Oh! And oh! Don't you think there's a difference between 副官エーベル and エベール・シニエ? The elongated vowel is different! It confuses me so much!! ;______;

*and shrugs* I kind of expected that. I mean... at this point I realize I should be expecting Ume's part to be relatively small, the way they've assigned the roles and made sure to include so many famous otokoyaku characters without bothering to bring out the musumeyaku ones.

And despite how these "gaiden" casts have distracted me from this temporarily, Andre DOES end up with OSCAR in the end, as we all know. >________<;;;

In some ways I expect Andre-hen to be much like Alain-hen, only from a different perspective... But we know it has to end in a much different place, so then again...

*confused* <.< *never had to really try to understand Gaiden Berubaras before now* >.>;;;

Since I always forget to post about this on my own LJ like I want to since... a month... >_>
Tani confirmed on the ochakai that Ume's role has been written for the play only, so it's a new person not showing up in the manga! ^^ I'm not sure if this has already been known yet so yeah, just wanted to make sure. XD

Good to know! I guess this is the first "Gaiden Berubara" where the female lead is a new character, huh...

The lack of musumeyaku is very vexing. Not surprising, but vexing nonetheless.

As someone who translated "Luna" (aka the show where the difference between アイリーン and イレーネ is a big plot point -_-;), are you sure that the name of Alice-chan's character isn't "Elaine?"

Then again, I don't really know French ^^;
Julie: alice meg wtfwao_wao on January 5th, 2009 02:28 am (UTC)
Yeah, I was going to say "Elaine isn't French", but actually an internet search tells me it IS French, so damned if I know anymore. >____<;;;

In any case, this time it is NOT a plot point, so really I'm just obsessing for the sake of the Wiki. ^^;;;
