I'm confused. Didn't Wao retire? Can they un-retire? Or is she coming back just as a guest appearance kind of thing?

They retired from the Takarazuka stage, not the stage altogether. :D Although it looked like O-Hana had completely quit acting -- only side-billings in dinner shows since she left Zuka in 2006 -- so her returning to the stage is in itself really exciting. ^_________________^

What news! And what a story to perform, Marlene Dietrich's life was full of both glamor and politics, and I so hope the play captures both. I think they plan on it if Piaf is in the play, since Piaf was also very politically active.

It doesn't surprise me in the slightest :D Everyone should be excited about a goddess like Hanafusa Mari alighting on a stage again :D

...But the "OG top musumeyaku appearing on stage again with their former partners" angle is also an understandable reason for squee ;) ♥
