Bear with me, folks; I might be posting a lot tonight. ;P

So I saw Takarazuka Special 2009 today.

violet_tango posted a clip of the rehearsals earlier, and then sumire_no_hana mailed me regarding a rumor. Going on the fact that, for example, TCA Special '08 2007 contained Matobun & Ayane singing "Me and My Girl", and then Hanagumi ended up performing it in full...

There was a section in the second half -- "Looking Back on 95 Years" -- that was a loooong medley of 'Zuka classics. And considering all the revivals we've had lately, one wonders if the company is dropping some hints.

And so I present to you all the medley set list and my thoughts thereon.

The first three songs were "Takarazuka ni Eikou Are" (otokoyaku tops), "La Belle Takarazuka" (musumeyaku tops) and "Parade Takarazuka" (the three Hanagumisei), which we should all know don't mean anything.

Here's where it gets interesting.

"Amor, Amor" (Nova Bossa Nova) ~ Mizu Natsuki

So I don't think anyone's posted about it yet, but there's definitely an NBN rumor going around. My jury's out on whether or not current Yukigumi will be the best-suited troupe in half a year or whenever... And after all maybe Hoshigumi will get it, since it was Chie's hatsubutai... But then again, there's also no saying that TWO troupes wouldn't do it again.

"Ai Areba Koso" (The Rose of Versailles) ~ Yukigumi

This obviously doesn't mean anything. ^^;;;

"Hana ni Chiri Yuki ni Chiri" (Chuushingura) ~ Otozuki Kei

Kimu doing Chuushingura... One word. SWOON.

"Parfum de Paris" ~ Suzumi Shio x Aono Yuki

I know nothing about this show and think it's less likely to be a clue with Hoshi's sanbante x the next Tsuki top... but hey, you never know. *shrugs*

"Take Off" ~ All the Yukigumi otokoyaku younger than Hiromi

This also is probably not so much a hint as "yay upbeat number with Yuki wakate".

"Kawaranu Omoi" (Black Jack) ~ Ranju Tomu

AUGH. CONFLICT. I love this song, and the image of BlackJack!Tomu is VERY tantalizing. But actually I didn't like "Black Jack" as a show. I recall describing it as "a story about a doctor who doesn't do much doctoring". ^^;;; Now, if they re-wrote the script... (Which they wouldn't, as it defeats the purpose of a revival. :P)

"Kaze no Shamrock" (Eire no Zanshou) ~ Ouki Kaname

It could happen, I guess? Although I'm not fond of Eire either, because I dislike a plot that goes "not much happening... not much happening... ALRIGHT NOW WE WILL RIP YOUR HEART OUT IN THE LAST 20 MINUTES."

"Sagittarius" ~ Ayana Oto, Saou Kurama, Ootsuki Sayu, Manaka Ayu, Maihane Mimi

*shrugs* Doubt this means anything.

"Kaze ni Naritai" (Kokkyou no nai Chizu) ~ Yuzuki Reon

I don't know anything about this show... Something about Germany and the Berlin Wall? *shrugs again*

"Mirai e" (Excalibur) ~ Soragumi

They're not going to do "Excalibur" again, I'm sure; this is just THE Soragumi song. ^_______^

"Glorious!!" ~ Yuumi Hiro, Hasumi Yuuya, Nagina Ruumi, Nanami Hiroki, Hanakage Arisu, Junya Chitose, Aihana Chisaki

Another obvious "Soragumi number". :)

"Endless Dream" (Blue Moon Blue) ~ Hokushou Kairi

Was beautiful and semi-ironic but other than that is likely not a hint.

"Yume no Hate ni" (Ludwig II) ~ Ayabuki Mao

Again with the beauty and irony.

"Hajimete Mita Asahi no you ni" (Ai no Sonata) ~ Oozora Yuuhi

I rule out the possibility of a revival on the grounds that they presumably wouldn't be able to release it on DVD?

"Sekai ni Motomu" (Ouke ni Sasagu Uta) ~ Hoshigumi

Appropriate for Hoshi / Chie, but would they really revive it when Kimura-sensei just put on "non-Zuka Aida" this year? (...Don't answer that question.)

The last number was "Kokoro no Tsubasa" from Tender Green sung by everyone.

Oh but later they also did a "Gone with the Wind" medley, obviously starring Tom. Does she want to add one last Rhett mustache to her collection...? ;)

Rumors, rumors, anyone for starting rumors? ;)

Normally I am rather anti-rumour, but oh my God I love this post.

First thing:

I love this Revue so much and I would die if Yukigumi would have a chance to perform it.
And Yukigumi doing Chuushingura would also be a really wonderful idea.

BlackJack. MMH. YES. PLEASE. Especially featuring Tomu.

Actually, I don't know anything about Kaze no Shamrock except of that it exists, and in the rehearsal clip, I was close to dying thanks to Kaname's singing. So, not much objection here.

Meanwhile I rather hope Hoshigumi will not do Kokkyou no nai Chizu.
I just wouldn't be able to take it serious, as many of you with the indians in Zorro.

I would madly love Soragumi doing Ai no Sonata. I laughed tears when I saw it the first time, and I think Soragumi could pull this off so well, better than anyone else, in my opinion. And I wouldn't complain at all if Alice-chan would get Mimi Anri's part. I think it's not a Senka role at all, and definitely the most stunning musumeyaku part in the part. Plus bed. Hrhr.
(I'm sorry for going crazy about this, but this would probably win over all the other possibilities in my eyes. <3)

Recently , in various interviews , both Chie AND Nene said that they wanted to perform NBN ! I think Chie said at least 3 times (adding her old graph articles ) so I think they CAN T give it to another troupe than Hoshi ^^:

I would certainly not protest against this as well.
Kaname and Chie in drag sounds quite amusing.

Actually not a disguised Oura Mizuki tribute. At least Sanspo says that it was in fact made part of the show as a tribute for her.

No, it didn't...

Manda told me wrong! I thought that didn't seem right, but I am far from being an expert on specials.

Even if they didn't say anything...

They did say something at the end of the medley. ♥

I think either Yuki or Hoshi doing NBN could be awesome, though I'd lean a bit towards Hoshi I think. I just want SOMEONE to do it again. So much opportunity to otokoyaku in drag!

You know, I don't necessarily want them to do Excalibur again in the least, but there is nothing that makes me happier than a bunch of Soragumisei singing "Mirai e".

Want NBN. Want it SO HARD. Want it when Kimu's top and Cecil can be Brisa/Mrs. Mel. Yes, please, want.

Why is no one thinking Tsuki for NBN it was her SHINKO lead for heavens sake :P Honestly thats where I want it to go. I'd love to hear Kiriyan sing my childhood songs with her beautiful, mature voice and in general do a show so close to my heart!!!

As for other things TOMU ♥♥♥ I LOVE THAT SONG. dislike the play so PLEASE NO

I object to a Ai no Sonta for Soragumi. Strongly. Love the show, but not for soragumi. Though the idea of Baron Ochs!Tomu is amazing... but of everyone one else... not so much. I'd love to see Alice as Marie-Therese... but the songs... and the role is supposed to be someone far older than the male lead... it wouldn't be the same... though Alice in frilly lingerie ♥

*shrug* I just hope Hankyu don't give me another year of "Meh." or "WHY T_T"

Didn't I talk with you about this? Ever since I heard the NBN rumor, Hoshi and Tsuki have been my two guesses... Then again, just like Yukigumi, we don't know what Tsuki is going to look like in half a year so I'm uncertain... And anyway, now that the rumor's going around almost everyone wants it for their troupe. :P

Yay, you agree with me on Tomu ♥ ♥ ♥

And man, I wished I hadn't brought up "Ai no Sonta"... It's never bugged me before that half the fandom has a bootleg copy and I don't, but now suddenly it does. :\

Yes, but I was mostly referring to everyone else.

I don't :P

It is a fun show, but frankly I find only certain scenes interesting. The lead female role is ... your typical musumeyaku role while Marie-Therese is truly the desirable role (despite not getting the guy in the end).

Also the hilarity is in the dynamic between the two male leads (as one mistakenly lust for the other one in a skirt ;D). While I liked the Mami and Rika dynamic its just FUNNIER to see Tani and Ahi in the same roles. THATS WHY I LOVE THE SHINKOx200000 more. (Though Mami and Rika sing better XD)

I want Hoshi to get A Map Without Borders. Then Michael should get the shinko lead, because she's listed it SO MANY TIMES as the role she most wants to play.

I have nothing productive to add to this entry, I just got a very clear image of you swooning in my mind. With your hands over your mouth and glossy eyes and everything. <3 <3 <3 You're too cute! :D (not that it was real, but you know what I mean!)

I demand an explanation of the Ooeyama/Gyakuten Saiban crossover <3

(Um...would it help if I fluttered my eyelashes? *flutterflutter* XD Obviously if you have other things to do this morning you should go do them <3)

Sorry dear, you walked right into that one XD

In other news, I was surprised when I went to the TCA Pictures site the other day and saw that the DVD didn't have any planned cuts. But since it looks like they're doing a lot of internal songs, it makes sense.

Love the idea of all of soragumisei singing Mirai E <3 Not to mention everyone doing Lambeth Walk! Did they all get costumes? There are tons of siennes I would love to imagine as cute Lambeth-ians <3333

Sorry dear, you walked right into that one

I maintain that I didn't, seeing as I haven't mentioned the crossovers on LJ at all, so only a few people know about it. Less people to make demands. ;)

Internal songs is like, all they did? ^^;;;

All the costumes were generic except for the parody section.

I get the impression that at this point you're enjoying making me wait XD

That's what I meant to say :P It's when they do pop stuff that they run into trouble. And frankly...it looks like it was a pretty good selection of Zuka classics. They could have picked far worse <3

ETA 1: I meant "you walked right into that one" in that if you tell me by e-mail that I could have just posted that question to your journal... ;D

ETA 2: It just occurred to me that the lack of Mii-chan in Drama City could theoretically lead to the possibility of Mii-chan!Chauvlin XD Just think, they could tie the "Investigation!" song from GS2 into Pimpernel ;)

And again you misunderstand me, because when I said "that block of text" I meant your comments on the Shangri-La cast. There's no reason to it, but some conversations I like to have "in public" on LJ so that other people can read them and/or participate in them.

Mii-chan... don't be ridiculous. ^^;;;
