I don't think your strategies are working very well, Hankyuu. Your shows aren't selling.

I don't understand.

Oh, dear.

I will just hold onto the (perhaps foolish) optimistic thought that this will maybe inspire them to stop slaying their employees with such hellish schedules. Sigh.

That's really.. disheartening. :( Like Angela said, it seems to cruel for everyone to be worked so hard for no reason. Sigh.

Now let's just hope that this becomes as clear to them as it is to us.

We were discussing on Sunday the fact that last year's Grand Theatre shows...were pretty average. Hankyu seemed to have a better hit rate with the smaller theatre shows like Phoenix and Fifty Fifty.

You voiced out my very thoughts...business and art are not always a successful mix.

I think the main strategy that isn't working is to play ten shows a week in a large theatre in a small town during an economic recession. I'm not sure what strategy it would take to fill the theatre in Takarazuka.

Seconded - all the unnecessary stuff takes a big hit in times of recession, people just can't afford luxuries. I'm sure things'll pick up though, given time.

Well, to be fair, it IS the daigekijou, not Tokyo. Seems fairly normal for the daigekijou not to sell out. And like some folks above said, it is a recession too.

Painfully for me personally, Solferino had sold better it's first weekend than Habsburg had halfway through the run. But I think that's probably retirement overflow. :/
