Wtf haters
O______O

Alice-chan deleted her last two entries. The "I'm fine and Haiji is fine" one, and then the "gosh there's a lot of damage in other areas, is everyone alright?" one.

She replaced them with an apologetic message implying that she may have said something thoughtless but reiterating her concern for anyone who may have been harmed by the effects of the earthquake.

...........

I had noticed that she was getting crazy tons of comments on the entries (45-ish for the first and 65-ish for the second) but basically only skimmed them to read what my friends wrote. I assumed everyone was saying the same things, "I'm so glad you're okay / Be careful of the after-shocks / I'm in ____ and me and mine are safe / I'm in ____ and only felt little tremors / etc."

But now I'm reading the reassuring comments on the new entry and it seems like people were writing hateful things about her behavior back in grade school / TMS or something?!?! Because they perceived that her entries were flippant and uncaring or something?!?!?!

;______________________________;

Don't even ask me to comment on this, I'm already upset as it is.

I cannot believe people would accuse her of things like that. I thought her post was cute about Haiji, and she did express concern for others. What the fig newtons.

Here, I fixed the chirashi for you? >>;

Exactly. Her post was like a cute, cheerful thing to make people smile amidst all the chaos. And somehow I doubt that anyone who was actually hurt by the earthquake had internet access, so it's like, people just getting butthurt on principle or some other idiocy.

(That's, eheh, nice of you, but considering my feelings on our tops already it's hard to "fix" the poster...)

Wow, seriously, what is wrong with people? I feel bad for Alice, having to deal with stupid people and all that's going on around her at the same time. No one deserves that, especially not her. I never got the impression she would be an uncaring person at all.
Juliewao_wao on March 12th, 2011 03:41 am (UTC)
Seriously, it seems pretty freaking obvious that she was flustered, experiencing a huge earthquake in her new apartment ALONE, she wanted to quickly tell people was okay and express her concern for others and people just... *rages* Even the comments now are like "it's okay, we still love you but be more careful next time!" ARGH.

That is just stupid! I saw her posts, and I was happy because it showed her safe and doing okay. So some people are just... stupid. :(

I really have no comment for the hate messages she got from the posters, but any chance that she may find it reassuring that there are plenty of folks here who did not find her messages offensive or condescending? I can't really post in Japanese so hopefully...hrmmm send her my well wishes, if that's not too much to ask. Not only were her messages cute, but I find it important that she let us know she's okay considering the rising death toll.

Why would anyone who cared enough to read her blog not simply be overjoyed by the news that she was safe? Why seize upon her innocent words as an occasion for being spiteful and mean-spirited?

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND JAPANESE TAKARAZUKA PEOPLE[1].

More and more I suspect the obaasans of this stupidity. The obaasans are all behind the "omg protocol!!!1" flaming, and the teenagers are behind the 96th hate. /baseless theories

People panic and act rashly during tragedies and times of chaos. It's a shame that that panic had to affect Alice-chan, but it's entirely understandable, unfortunately. Though one could argue that if these people are so concerned about giving proper attention to the tragedy they would be doing something other than reading a Takarasienne's blog.

God, you are so right.

THIS.

And also, when some people are scared, upset, and angry, they look for somewhere to vent, someone to blame. They can shake their fists at the earthquake all they want, but it's not going to care. Someone human is a much better target, doesn't matter that their anger is displaced and all out of proportion.

I hope when Alice is past her own fear and hurt, she'll be able to see that and realize that their words are about them and not her. :(
